Willamette Valley

The Willamette Valley, the heart of Oregon's wine country, pays homage to one of the most difficult noble grapes to grow, Pinot Noir. Now with nine sub-AVAs, the distinctive soils of, Jory (volcanic), Willakenzie (marine sediment) and Loess (windblown silt) lends itself to the uniquely different characteristics found in Oregon's most popular grape variety. Wineries here are predominately artisanal, playing on old-world winemaking techniques and modern-day inventions, with strong attention to sustainability standards.
